ED3 To Join National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC) to Access Advanced Technology Solutions

Maricopa, AZ – March 7, 2025 – Electrical District No. 3 (ED3), today announced its membership with the National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC), gaining access to a comprehensive suite of technology solutions designed specifically for the utility industry. ED3 will transition to the NISC technology platform over the next 18 months with the expiration of its current technology service agreement and retirement of its legacy system.

By leveraging NISC's robust software platform, ED3 will streamline critical business processes, including customer relationship management, billing, service order management, and outage management leading to improved operational efficiency and customer care.

NISC's platform provides access to cutting­edge technologies like advanced analytics, data visualization tools, cybersecurity solutions, and an improved customer app enabling ED3 to meet industry trends and better serve its customers.

As a NISC member, ED3 will benefit from a collaborative network of other co-ops and public power utilities, providing valuable insights, best practices, and peer support.

General Manager Brian Yerges stated that, “ED3 realizes that adopting new technologies is core to meeting the needs of not only our current customers, but future customers, as our service territory continues to anticipate robust growth ahead. We are moving forward with other new technologies such as smart thermostat demand response, utility-scale solar, and utility-scale battery energy storage projects. NISC is the right technology partner to help us modernize our internal and external business and customer service processes. This modernization effort will include an improved customer app and outage management.”

NISC representative Rachel Eggebrecht stated that “NISC is excited to onboard ED3 and bring another Arizona utility into our cooperative family. We are committed to a successful transition and assisting ED3 with delivering worldclass technology and service to its public power customers.”
