ED3 Receives National Award for 100 Years of Service

Electrical District No. 3 (ED3), received the Century Award from the American Public Power Association (APPA) for its 100-year anniversary. The APPA Century Award is given each year to public power utilities that have served their customers and community for 100 years.

Since January 1926, ED3 has served the Maricopa area as it grew from a rural agricultural area serving small farms to serving the needs of the City of Maricopa. Today, over 36,000 customers receive service from ED3. A special article was published in the January edition of InMaricopa to mark the occasion. Throughout 2026, ED3 will celebrate its 100 years of service with our customers and community.
