Electrical District No. 3 has been recognized by the American Public Power Association with the 2025 Safety Award of Excellence, earning the Diamond award for utilities with 93,789 annual worker-hours. This honor reflects ED3’s strong commitment to safety through ongoing campaigns, dedicated safety professionals, and a culture focused on protecting employees. More than 240 utilities competed, with rankings based on incident-free records and overall safety programs, using standards set by Occupational Safety and Health Administration. APPA, which represents over 2,000 community-owned utilities nationwide, has presented these awards for more than sixty-eight years, recognizing organizations that demonstrate excellence in workplace safety and operational practices.
