Pre-Paid Metering Program (PPM)
The Pre-Paid Metering Program (PPM) allows you to take control and pay in advance for your electricity with no due dates, no deposits, and no late fees! On PPM you will receive daily text and/or email notifications of your previous day’s usage and balance on your account. Alerts are sent out around 10:30 a.m. and if payment is required, it must be paid before noon each day. This is a self-managed account. On-site solar generation accounts are not eligible for pre-paid metering.
Terms and Conditions/Requirements:
- This is a self-managed account, and you are solely responsible for maintaining your meter balance and contact information.
- An in-service mobile phone, email, or both are required to receive daily pre-paid balance and usage alerts.
- Failure to receive alerts will not be recognized as a valid reason for failure to pay balance before disconnection.
- Pre-paid meters automatically disconnect at noon if there is not a credit balance on the account.
- If the account disconnects you must pay owing balance for the previous day’s usage, plus a $50.01 credit that goes towards your future usage and to restore service.
- If you receive an estimated balance and usage alert, the message will show (est) in the message. Once the actual read is received, the system will either credit or debit your account based on your actual usage.
- Payment options are available 24/7, through the SmartHub app, website, or automated phone system.
- If no power has been used, a minimum daily charge will be assessed.
- You will be required to enroll in SmartHub and receive daily balance and usage alerts.
- When disconnecting service, you must call in a disconnect (online or by phone), rather than letting the account run out of funds. Otherwise, services will stay in your name, and you will accrue daily minimum charges.
- The minimum payment is $20.00 through the drop box or with an in-office Customer Service Representative. You can pay with no minimum on the SmartHub App, online or automated service.
- You must stay on the PPM program for a 12-month period.
