Time of Use (TOU) is a rate that has on and off peak time periods, with the on peak being at a higher rate and the off peak a lower one. The purpose of the on and off peak periods is to benefit customers who shift their energy consumption during periods when electricity is at a lower demand (off peak hours).

Our on peak hours are from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (Monday-Friday) and the off peak period is all other hours and all day on weekends, super off peak hours are between 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. The rate fluctuates dependent on the time of year and is broken into three seasonal blocks: Winter (November-April), Summer (May, June, September, and October), and Super Summer (July & August).

You can save on TOU by taking advantage of the off peak and super off peak hours when the rates are lower. Tasks such as running the dishwasher, laundry, and the pool pump, which use more energy, can be done during off peak hours to emphasize the savings. Heating and cooling also account for a lot of usage and installing a smart thermostat helps you set the thermostat to operate at a higher temperature during the day.

Distributed Generation - Including Solar customers are not eligible at this time for Time of Use (Coming Soon!). 

 

Terms and Conditions

• You must stay on the TOU program for a 12-month period.
• TOU 2-10 Rate Program requires an electronic meter at your residence. This meter will record how much energy you use each month and when you use it.
• Applications must be submitted by active primary account holder.
• Service under this rate schedule will become effective after installation of the Time-of-Use meter.
• Must provide current AZ car registration with address and owner matching ED3 account, yearly.
• This is a pilot program and may be modified or discontinued at any time.
